Colossians 3:16 (KJV)16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

FROM THE PASTOR’S HEART
Greetings in the name of The Lord.
We are now full force into the 2018-2019 church year and I am thankful for El Bethel Baptist Church. There are many opportunities around for you to experience spiritual growth and fellowship through our ministries. I am thankful for all of our ministries, many of which have been here for years, and a few that have been added recently. I am thankful for Carolyn and her team as they prepared and oversaw our Homecoming Day last month. Continue to pray for Jerry and Linda down in Florida. It was also good to see some former staff members; Trey and Katie and Roland. I am thankful for our Recreation Ministry which includes both softball and basketball. I am thankful for Andrew and Kelsey who joined with us last month and are now in Sunday School and Worship. I want to continue to stress the importance of Sunday School and of having an outreach mentality. Anyone is welcome to join our Care Ministry and we would be delighted for you to help us on Tuesday nights. I am thankful for Carlos, Danny, Roland, and Tom who helped us with our music last month and for David who is helping us now. I am also thankful for Rylan and Kayla and all they are doing for our children, young people, and entire church.
New River will be with us this month, on October 21st and Joyful Sound will be here in November.
Other things such as a Marriage Retreat, a Men’s Ministry event and a Teacher Training and Sunday School Promotion are tentatively being planned.
Let me remind you to remember your duty as a Christian citizen and vote next month. We should vote for candidates that best adhere to Christian values and principles.
We had a wonderful service last Sunday night, (Sept. 30th) as we had a singing and testimonies followed by a wonderful time of fellowship. Let me encourage you to go to Pebble Creek Baptist Church tonight, (Oct. 7th), and worship with our sister churches in the TRBA. The service begins at 5:00.
From the Preaching Ministry, we will continue to study Daniel on Wednesdays,
I John on Sunday nights and today, (Oct. 7th), I will begin a series on the miracles in the book of John on Sunday mornings.
In closing, the last week of September was a tough week for the Seay Family medically speaking. Thanks to everyone who prayed for us and who encouraged us in other ways during this difficult time. We appreciate it so much. Please keep Dawn in your prayers as she continues to see doctors.
